Renting a car

What is ReCa?

ReCa is a car rental marketplace in Pakistan where you rent cars directly from verified local owners instead of through a rental agency. You can book self-drive or with a driver, by the day, in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and other major cities.

How do I rent a car on ReCa?

Search for a car in your city, pick your pickup and return dates, and open the listing to see the price, photos and the vendor’s requirements. Book the dates, upload the documents the vendor asks for along with your bank transfer receipt, and you will be contacted within three hours to confirm.

How much does it cost to rent a car in Pakistan?

Self-drive compact sedans typically start around PKR 3,500-6,000 per day depending on the city. SUVs and 7-seaters generally run PKR 8,000-16,000 per day. Hiring a driver adds roughly PKR 2,000-4,000 per day. Vendors set their own prices, so the listing always shows the exact rate.

Can I rent a car without a driver in Pakistan?

Yes. Self-drive rental is available across all the cities ReCa operates in. Vendors offering self-drive usually require a valid Pakistani driving licence and CNIC, and some ask for a security deposit. Each listing states its requirements before you book.

What documents do I need to rent a car?

It depends on the vendor and the listing shows the requirements before you book. For self-drive, the usual set is a valid Pakistani driving licence and CNIC. For with-driver bookings, a CNIC is typically enough.

Can I rent a car for one day?

Yes. Bookings are priced per day with a one-day minimum, so single-day rentals are standard on ReCa.

Can I rent a car for a month or longer?

Yes. Select the full date range when booking and the total is calculated per day. Many vendors will agree a lower daily rate for long bookings — message them through ReCa chat before booking to ask.

What is the difference between self-drive and with-driver?

Self-drive means you drive the car yourself and you are responsible for it during the rental. With-driver means the owner provides a driver, whose cost is included in the with-driver daily rate. Some listings offer both and you choose at booking time.

Is there a mileage limit?

It depends on the listing. Some vendors offer unlimited mileage, others set a daily kilometre cap. The mileage policy is shown in the specs section on every car page.

Can I take a rental car to another city?

Usually yes for self-drive, but check the mileage policy and message the vendor first. Intercity trips — especially hill routes like Murree or long runs to the north — are sometimes restricted or priced differently.

Bookings and payment

How do I pay for a booking?

Payment is by direct bank transfer to the vendor. When you book, you upload a screenshot of the transfer along with your documents, and the vendor confirms the booking after checking it. ReCa does not currently process card payments.

When is my booking confirmed?

After you submit a booking with your documents and payment screenshot, the status is "received". The vendor reviews it and you will be contacted within three hours. Once they accept, the booking moves to "confirmed".

Can I cancel a booking?

Cancellation terms are set per listing — Flexible, Moderate or Strict — and shown in the specs section on the car page. Contact the vendor through ReCa chat as soon as you know you need to cancel.

Are prices per day or per hour?

Per day. You are charged one day for each started 24-hour period between pickup and return, so a pickup at 10am Monday returning 2pm Tuesday counts as two days.

Does ReCa charge a booking fee?

The price you see on the listing is the price the vendor set. Payment is made directly to the vendor by bank transfer.

Listing your car

How do I list my car on ReCa?

Create a vendor account, add your payout details, and list the car through the guided flow — location, driver options, requirements, availability, specs, photos and price. A ReCa admin reviews and approves the account before your listing goes live.

How much can I earn renting out my car?

It depends on the car, the city and how many days a month it is booked. A compact sedan listed at PKR 5,000 per day and rented ten days a month earns PKR 50,000 in that month. You set your own daily rate.

How do I get paid?

Renters transfer payment directly to the bank account you add during vendor setup, and upload the receipt with their booking. You confirm the booking once the payment lands.

Can I block dates when my car is not available?

Yes. Each listing has an availability editor where you block individual date ranges, including ranges that repeat weekly — useful if you use the car yourself on fixed days. Blocked dates are hidden from search and cannot be booked.

Do I have to offer self-drive?

No. You choose per listing whether the car is available self-drive only, with a driver only, or both. If you offer both, you set a separate daily rate for each.

How long does vendor approval take?

A ReCa admin reviews every new vendor account before listings go live. You can create your account and prepare a listing while approval is pending.

Safety and trust

Are the vendors on ReCa verified?

Every vendor account is reviewed and approved by a ReCa admin before their listings become visible. Vendors and cars also carry ratings from renters who completed trips.

What happens if the car is damaged during my rental?

Damage is settled directly between you and the vendor. Photograph the car at pickup and at return so both sides have a record of its condition.

Can I contact the vendor before booking?

Yes. Every listing has a chat button that opens a conversation with the owner, so you can ask about delivery, mileage or documents before committing.

How do ratings work?

After a trip ends, the renter can rate the car and the vendor from one to five stars and leave a review. Those ratings show on the car and vendor profile.
