How ReCa works
ReCa is a car rental marketplace in Pakistan where you can rent a car self-drive or with a driver, by the day, from verified local vendors in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and other major cities. Here is exactly what happens on both sides of a booking.
Renting a car
- 1
Search for a car
Choose your city and your pickup and return dates. ReCa only shows cars that are free for those dates — vendor-blocked days and already-booked cars are filtered out. Narrow further by self-drive or with-driver, transmission, car type, seat count and price.
- 2
Compare listings
Each listing shows photos, the daily rate, transmission, seats, fuel type, mileage policy, cancellation policy and the vendor’s rating. If anything is unclear, use the chat button to message the owner before you book.
- 3
Book your dates
Pick your pickup and return times. You are charged one day for each started 24-hour period, so a 10am Monday pickup returning 2pm Tuesday counts as two days. Choose self-drive or with a driver if the listing offers both.
- 4
Upload documents and payment
Upload whatever the vendor requires — usually a driving licence and CNIC for self-drive — plus a screenshot of your bank transfer. Payment goes directly to the vendor’s account.
- 5
Get confirmed and drive
Your booking shows as "received" while the vendor checks it. You will be contacted within three hours. Once accepted it moves to "confirmed" and you arrange handover with the owner.
- 6
Rate your trip
After the return date passes you can rate the car and the vendor from one to five stars and leave a review. Those ratings help the next renter choose.
Listing your car
- 1
Register as a vendor
Sign up with your phone number and select "List my car". Add a profile photo and the bank account details renters will transfer payment to.
- 2
Wait for approval
A ReCa admin reviews every new vendor account before listings go live. You can build your listing while approval is pending.
- 3
List your car
The listing flow covers the pickup location on a map, whether you offer self-drive, a driver or both, the documents you require from renters, your unavailable dates, the car’s specs, photos and your daily rate.
- 4
Manage bookings
Booking requests appear in your dashboard with the renter’s documents and payment receipt attached. Confirm once the payment lands, and block dates any time your plans change.
How payment works
ReCa does not process card payments. Renters transfer the booking total directly to the vendor’s bank account and upload the receipt with their booking. The vendor checks the transfer and confirms. This keeps the money between the two parties and means there is no payment processing fee on top of the listed price.
How pricing works
Every price on ReCa is set by the car’s owner, not by ReCa. Rates are per day, and you are charged one day for each started 24-hour period. Listings that offer both self-drive and with-driver carry two separate daily rates, and you choose which one applies when you book.
